Abstract
The profiles of over forty Ml curves in rectangular channels are examined. The ranges of variables covered are: n, from 0.012 to 0.050; breadth-to-depth ratio, 2, 10, and infinity; and bed slope, 10-3 to 10-6. The effects of variation of n and SO on the profile form are examined. Nondimensional plots of profiles for given channel geometries are found to rank according to normal flow Froude numbers (FO). The maximum surface displacement and the profile length, expressed in nondimensional form, are found to be functions of FO.
