Densities and Compaction Rates of Deposited Sediment

Abstract
Review of important work performed in field of sediment densities; factors affecting initial density of newly deposited sediments and rate of consolidation of deposited material; methods of estimating sediment densities for particular sediment conditions; consolidation theories developed in field of soil mechanics are presented, with discussion of their possible application to sediment problem.
