Expression of Concern for “Anthropogenic Interventions in Watersheds on River Flow Health: Assessment Using Bootstrapped Principal Component Analysis”

Publication: Journal of Water Resources Planning and Management
Volume 150, Issue 6
The publisher is issuing an Expression of Concern for the paper “Anthropogenic Interventions in Watersheds on River Flow Health: Assessment Using Bootstrapped Principal Component Analysis” by Maithili Mohanty and Vinod Tare, published online on November 1, 2021, in the Journal of Water Resources Planning and Management, https://doi.org/10.1061/(ASCE)WR.1943-5452.0001499, to inform readers that an individual contends to be an author of this published paper but was not included as an author in the byline. The authors of the paper duly acknowledged the individual’s initial work in the Acknowledgments. The authors of the paper dispute the individual’s authorship claim. ASCE requested an investigation by the Academic Ethics Cell (AEC) of the Indian Institute of Technology, Kanpur, which was concluded in December 2023. The AEC found that the individual has merit as an author, but the authors continue to dispute this and feel that the investigation was biased. ASCE is unable to resolve this situation.
