Abstract
A combined optimization-simulation procedure was developed and applied to identify the optimal conservation pool storage allocation problem is formulated and solved as a constrained nonlinear programming (NLP) problem with multiple objectives. The Box-Complex algorithm is coupled with an existing generalized reservoir simulation model to seek a solution to the NLP problem. The solutions are refined by an iterative simulation process that allows input from planners and engineers who are involved in management of this system.
