Research and Control of Obnoxious Aquatic Plants
Publication: Journal of the Waterway, Port, Coastal and Ocean Division
Volume 103, Issue 3
Abstract
Aquatic plants continue to create problems associated with navigation, flood control, agriculture, irrigation, drainage, values of lands, conservation of wildlife, and water supply. While much research is being done to find more effective and economic control measures, there is now a great need to apply known facts to achieve control of aquatic plants within the means available. Currently we are involved in programs of control by mechanical, biological, and chemical methods, but most programs are of necessity limited to chemical control. The objective of our current research is to establish an integrated system that is effective and environmentally sufficient.
