Abstract

Comprehensive interagency water resources planning involving both Federal water resources agencies and the states is described. Included is information on background and development of the procedure, its purposes, and methods of operation. Analyzed are some innovations under consideration for more specific and more visible delineation of alternative goals for water resources development, and the manner of drawing from these alternatives the elements of a single preferred plan. Immediate and long-range problems involved in this procedure are pointed out.
