Abstract
Plan for flood control on Lower Mississippi developed by A.A. Humphreys and H.L.Abbot century ago; problems relating to open channel flow which at that time confronted hydraulic engineers; solution, development of original formulas, and comparison with other formulas in use at time and with present methods.
