“Tidal” Navigational Problems Below Wilson Dam

Abstract
Modernization of 14,500 ft canal; navigational problems caused by up to 100,-000 cfs fluctuating turbine discharge of powerhouse, resembling twice daily tide; use of 1:100 scale model; modification in entrance shape to eliminate two cross-current problems; extension of downstream point of land between canal and river and placing of six 32 ft diam sheet-piling cells on 57 ft centers parallel to river.
