Abstract
The exact determination of hydraulic surfaces presents a serious problem for experimental hydraulic researchers. Unlike mechanical or electronic devices, which require physical contact with the surface, thereby causing disturbance to the flow, the photogrammetric approach enables us to perform measurements without interference. This method however has to cope with other problems, such as surface definition and visibility, camera limitations and object space control. These problems are investigated and described together with the results of practical experiments.
