Abstract

The inertial platform has been used in photogrammetric mapping to give the direction of the vertical at the moment of exposure in addition to the horizontal position of the camera. Conclusions, which are subject to the limitations of the mathematical model used in the study, are derived. The gravity anomalies have a secondary effect on the accuracy of the inertially determined direction of the vertical, and is found to be approximately equal to the total angle of deflection.
