Zumpango Test Embankment

Abstract
The behavior of a test embankment on a soft foundation is studied by means of adequate instrumentation. Pore pressures, settlements and horizontal displacements were measured. A soft clay layer substantially contributes to the large settlements recorded. Horizontal displacements disclose compressive strains within the embankment and tensions in the foundation.
