Abstract
Investigation of collapse condition of very flexible tubes, surrounded by thin layer of sand and subjected to external static pressures; study of hollow sand cylinder and cylindrical tube, in composite sand tube system; results demonstrated strengthening effects of soil around buried structure; application of principle in design of culverts and pipe line casings that pass under highways or under earth embankments.
