Information Sources on Water Quality Including Thermal Pollution

Informing the membership on the effects and control of water temperature changes caused by the industrial uses of water is a responsibility of the Thermal Pollution Committee. The literary outpouring in the past few years required an in-depth investigation by the committee of the mass of new literature on thermal pollution being produced, methods for efficient retrieval to inform the membership and the forms in which the data are available. A number of very competent information retrieval systems and abstracting services have been established. Comprehensive coverage of retrieval systems containing information on thermal pollution is presented in this report. These data include location of the retrieval systems, how they can be used, approximate costs, the format in which data are made available, and whom to contact.
