Greater part of existing 130 high rate digestion systems in United States are of gas recirculation type, and some use mechanical agitation; table shows summary of operating results of high rate digestion tanks; digestion time required; Standard requirements of 10 states; cost considerations; savings through introduction of high rate digestion.
