Abstract
Turbulent diffusion in well-mixed tidal estuary is considered; practicable theory is presented from which quantitative predictions of mean pollutant-concentration distributions may be obtained for estuary characterized by steady-state salinity and velocity fields which are considered to vary only in axial direction.
