New Developments in Sewage Sludge Treatment
Publication: Journal of the Sanitary Engineering Division
Volume 85, Issue 6
Abstract
Reduction in digestion volume requirements utilizing decreased detentions, pre-thickening and gaseous mixing has been a primary goal of recent developments. Advances in sludge filtration have resulted from a wider variety of media and tolerance of higher filtrate suspended solids. Other dewatering developments are revived interest in centrifugation and a new wet oxidation process.
