Some Design Considerations for Oxidation Ponds

Abstract

Factors which influence operation of oxidation ponds; design should be based upon proposed effiuent usage, BOD load, climatic characteristics and geographical location; uniform inlet and flow through distribution systems, bank stabilization and elimination of mosquito breeding places are of prime importance; BOD loadings up to 200 lb/Ac/D are possible.
