Minimization of Composite Dead Load Effects
Publication: Journal of the Structural Division
Volume 108, Issue 11
Abstract
A method is presented whereby the effects of the sequencing of dead load effects on continuous composite highway bridges may be determined. All relevant time-dependent concrete properties are accounted for and codified into a comprehensive computer program. The effects of staging for 12 highway bridges is presented along with a schedule for reducing the cracking in the concrete through the use of an optimization technique.
