Bond Characteristics of Initially Untensioned Strand

Publication: Journal of the Structural Division
Volume 107, Issue 5

Abstract

A general hypothesis is developed for the pullout response of initially untensioned but rotationally restrained, seven-wire prestressing strand from concrete. Pertinent experimental data are provided and examined. The bond characteristics of strand are unique and warrant further study. Practical uses of the pullout capabilities of strand are covered. Some consideration is given to the various forms of pullout test.
