Multiple Frequencies in Dynamic Systems

Abstract
Ordinarily a structural system with n degrees-of-freedom can be expected to have n different and distinct natural frequencies. However, under certain conditions two or even more of the frequencies have the same value. It is the purpose of this paper to consider a three-degree-of-freedom system with three identical natural frequencies and to arrive at certain conclusions regarding the characteristics of the system.
