Abstract
Many practicing engineers still seem to ignore the problem of thermal gradient or differential in bridge structures despite the growing awareness of its importance in recent years. This paper draws attention to Priestley.s approach with the aid of an example problem. Only simple classical methods of structural analysis are employed, and the writer has already indicated the effective use of desk-top computers for handling the various operations.
