Influence Surfaces for Curved Multibeam Bridges

Publication: Journal of the Structural Division
Volume 99, Issue 7

Abstract

The problem of the static analysis of simple supported, fan-shaped, multibeam bridges is reformulated by the Fourier's series method for the purpose of introducing certain new features. Poisson's ratio is retained as a problem parameter. A procedure is devised to accelerate the convergence of bending moments in beams located directly under concentrated loads. A method is developed for the determination of influence surfaces for various effects at a specified section of a specified beam.
