Abstract
A review of currently available methods for the elastic analysis of steel box girder bridges is presented, along with information on experimental verifications and a brief section on stability problems associated with steel box girders. It is suggested that an experimental research program on full-size box girders is needed to assist in formulating an ultimate strength approach to steel box girder design.
