Bibliography on the Use of Digital Computers in Structural Engineering

The first report of the Task Group, Subcommittee on Publications, Committee on Electronic Computation of the Structural Division, is a bibliography on the use of digital computers in structural engineering. The bibliography is limited in scope in that it was compiled for use primarily by organizations that have relatively small technical staffs with limited knowledge of computers, but who wish to use digital computers for the solution of structural analysis and design problems. A brief comment is given with each paper to assist the engineer in determining the emphasis of the paper. An unusual feature of the bibliography is that each paper or report is classified with respect to the level of computer knowledge necessary for understanding the paper. Only papers readily available to most engineers and those written in English are included. The bibliography is divided into five parts: Bibliography of papers and Reports; Bibliography of Books; Some Other Bibliographies on Numerical Methods and Associated Topics; and Author and Subject Indexes to Papers and Reports.
