Minimum Cost Design of Large Support Rings

Abstract
Use of rings for support of penstocks, tanks, large ducts, wind tunnels, and other structures; new design method eliminates outer flange plate of ring on various sections of ring without materially affecting ring stresses; significant savings in fabrication cost of ring can thus be realized.
