Abstract
This paper presents a method of obtaining moments in restrained or continuous beams by first solving for the moments at each support with the loading placed on one span at a time only (PARTIAL MOMENTS) and, then, by combining these moments in a prescribed manner, getting the moments at each support with all the spans loaded (TOTAL MOMENTS). Two solutions are presented-one is analytical, the other is graphical.
