Fate of Wastewater Phosphorus in Soil

Abstract

The fate of applied phosphorus is one factor which must be considered when designing or operating a land application wastewater treatment system. It is essential that the phosphorus concentration enterihg surface waters be sufficiently low to avoid degradation of aquatic systems and to avoid causing an accelerated eutrophication rate.
