Abstract
The design of a drainage system requires knowledge of the requirements of the crops to be grown, numerical evaluation of the pertinent soil properties, and incorporation of these data into a design equation. This paper proposes arational procedure for the determination of the proper depth and spacing of tile drains, given the soil properties and the desired rate of drawdown of the water table.
