Minimum Cover For Buried Flexible Conduits

Abstract

From model studies it is possible to predict the minimum soil cover required to protect buried conduits over which a wheel load passes. Similitude is achieved by drawing fluid (air) down through the model soil. Results are reported for flexible (lightweight metal and plastic) conduits buried in sand.
