Retraction: “Effect of Crushed Granite, Superabsorbent Polymer, and Expansive Agent on the Workability, Compressive Properties, and Autogenous Shrinkage of Ultrahigh-Performance Concrete”

The paper, “Effect of Crushed Granite, Superabsorbent Polymer, and Expansive Agent on the Workability, Compressive Properties, and Autogenous Shrinkage of Ultrahigh-Performance Concrete,” by Zhihui Yu, Lishan Wu, Cong Zhang, and Toshiyuki Bangi, published online on February 6, 2023, in the Journal of Materials in Civil Engineering [https://doi.org/10.1061/(ASCE)MT.1943-5533.0004703] is being retracted at the request of the editor in chief due to a violation of publication ethics. ASCE was alerted of a complaint regarding authorship of this article, prompting an investigation that revealed the coauthor “Toshiyuki Bangi” to be fictitious and added to the paper by the corresponding author.

Manipulating authorship is a serious offense that distorts the research record and calls into question all aspects of the work. The corresponding author has admitted to the deceit and understands the need for retraction.
