Abstract
The elasticity solution of a simply supported imperfectly bonded laminated beam is presented. The results show that an imperfectly bonded three-layered beam deflects and is stressed less than a perfectly bonded beam when its middle layer is flexible and its bottom layer is thicker than its top layer. The ratios of stress (σx/σ) and deflection (v/δ) remain constant for a span-to-depth ratio greater than ten, where σ and δ are stress in the top fiber and deflection, respectively, at the central cross section of equivalent Euler beam. The normal pressure remains constant along the span.
