Laboratory Simulation of Turbulent Wind Spectra
Publication: Journal of the Engineering Mechanics Division
Volume 105, Issue 6
Abstract
It can be shown that to achieve similarity between the wind tunnel and the atmospheric flow, it is necessary, in principle, that the Reynolds number and the Rossby numbers be the same both in the atmosphere and the laboratory. It will be assumed here that the effect of violating the Reynolds number criterion in insignificant; attention will be focused on the effects of the Rossby number.
