Abstract
The equations presented in this paper for skew plates admit shear deformation, with the Kirchhoff-Love classical hypothesis replaced by Bernoulli's. This approach leads to three-edge conditions in contrast to the two artificial conditions of the classical theory. The equations also permit incorporation of the effect of distributed moment loads (braking forces in bridge systems, rotational inertia in dynamic processes) in addition to conventional loads. The equations and the computer program prepared for them are formulated in tensor notation, suitable for rapid transformation of coordinates. Examples of especially advantageous applications are given.
