Abstract

The development of a rational procedure for predicting the dynamic response of offshore structures to random sea waves has been presented in earlier papers. However, the fluid-structure interaction effects in a nondeterministic method of analysis has not been fully considered. The inclusion of these effects in the general method of analysis is presented herein. The general theory presented, combines known methods of analysis, such as wave force definitions, structural response techniques, equivalent linearization methods, and extreme value statistics.
