Circular Sandwich Plates Under Eccentric Load

Abstract
The governing equations for the nonrotationally symmetrical bending of isotropic circular sandwich plates derived by the writer in a previous paper are applied to obtain the solution for a fixed circular plate subjected to an eccentric concentrated load. The face layers are considered as membranes but made of different materials and unequal thickness; however, for simplicity, Poisson's ratio is assumed to be the same. The solution is presented in a form of an infinite series and for the limiting case where shear modulus of the core approaches infinity the expression becomes identical to the one for a single layer plate without shear deformation as it should be.
