Axisymmetric Apex Loadings on Conical Shells

Abstract
Solutions to the Love-Meissner equations of the thin conical shell of constant wall thickness are obtained in terms of generalized hypergeometric series. Singularities in the displacements and stress resultants due to a concentrated force and due to hot spots are compared with those resulting from similar loadings on the flat plate and shallow dome with several differences being noted.
