Abstract
Extensive research programs have been undertaken to determine the mechanism for the removal of trace organic chemicals from drinking water by adsorbent, eg., granular activated carbon (GAC). When performing adsorption studies which lead to full scale application, it is reasonable to investigate lab-bench scale, intermediate scale, and pilot plant test series. Experience has shown that verification and reverificaitons is not only good practice, but necessary.
