Abstract
A method has been investigated for measuring the specific deposit. Experimental data are presented and compared with the calculated values from four mathematical models. Results indicated that the sludge from the backwash waste seems to retain the identity of the deposit floc within the filter bed. Various kinds of single media and one mixed-media bed were investigated. The proposed method is simple and practical for filtration study.
