Abstract
St. Lucie Unit No. 2 is an extension and a duplication of the St. Lucie Unit No. 1 which is a nuclear power generating station of 790 MW capacity utilizing a two loop PWR nuclear steam supply system. The construction of the Unit 2 Reactor Building (RB) foundation (adjacent to the existing Unit 1) required special provisions to assure the safe operation of Unit 1. The circular cofferdam that was designed and constructed to meet all seismic category I requirements for the construction of Unit no. 2 RB foundation is considered. Restrictions and tests required for sheet pile driving are also presented.
