Abstract
The results of a survey designed to determine the approximate percentage of design and construction cost spent for the preparation and processing of Environmental Impact Statements is presented. In addition the groups who benefit from Environmental Impact Statements are tabulated. Questionnaires were sent to all consultants appearing in The ENR 500 Consultants Compilation and to those organizations listed in The Ohio Directory. The data indicates that the construction cost of projects with which The ENR 500 consultants are involved may be increased 20.8% for the preparation and processing of Environmental Impact Statements. The corresponding figure for The Ohio Directory consultants is 21.6%.
