Abstract
The application of the U.S. Navy Contractor Quality Control (CQC) type of contract to civilian construction was analyzed through use of questionnaires to design architects and engineers and to contractors. Under this contract, the contractor furnishes owners with records of inspections of quality by his own staff. Even under an extended warranty by contractors, designers were overwhelmingly against CQC contract provisions and contractors were split. The responses to many questions on inspection and quality control are reported, as they affect the acceptance of CQC by all members of a construction team.
