Construction of Pueblo Dam

Abstract
Pueblo Dam consists of a concrete massive-head buttress dam and spillway structure flanked by zoned earthfill embankments. Pueblo Reservoir is the terminal and principal storage feature of the multi-purpose Fryingpan-Arkansas Project in Colorado. Construction of Pueblo Dam was performed in two stages: (1)Foundation excavation and river diversion were accomplished during the first stage; and (2)construction of the earth embankments and concrete section of the dam were performed during the second stage of construction.
