Tension Piles and Diagonal Tie-Backs
Publication: Journal of the Construction Division
Volume 95, Issue 1
Abstract
The paper explains the placement of tension piles and diagonal tie-backs on three construction problems. Governed by local site conditions, a different method of placement was used for each project. The explanation of each project includes the reasons for selection of the tension number used, the method of placing, and the results of field tests. Proper design and testing, along with a competent contractor, are a necessity for this type of work.
