Abstract
As out-going President of the American Society of Civil Engineers, Joseph Ward reports on the accomplishments of his administration and enumerates the issues that still need to be addressed by the Society. Among the programs and issues covered are the ASCE Energy Action Program, the role of ASCE and the civil engineering profession in federal and state regulations, the ASCE membership program, engineering education, and active participation in the American Association of Engineering Societies.
