A Moral Appraisal of Cost-Benefit Analysis

Abstract
A cost-benefit analysis is one in which the engineer weighs the possible positive consequences, or benefits, of a given action against the negative consequences, or costs, of that same action. An ethical analysis of the cost-benefit analysis is discussed from a philosophical point of view. Advantages and disadvantages are considered from a moral point of view.
