Is the Risk Insurable?
Publication: Issues in Engineering: Journal of Professional Activities
Volume 107, Issue 4
Abstract
There has been a recent alarming increase in both the frequency and severity of the claims being brought against civil engineers and other professionals. The basic Architects and Engineers Professional Liability coverage is described, with an explanation of the important limitations and exclusions in the Professional Liability coverage. The risk management process, simply put, is a four-step process: the identification of all possible risk exposures; the evaluation of the extent of the risk; a decision of how best to handle the risk; and an evaluation of the effectiveness of the risk management program.
