A Systems Approach to Hospital Planning and Design

Abstract
The overriding factor for the successful development of a systems approach to hospital planning and design is an integrated conceptual framework. Thus it is essential that included as the main feature is a statement of principles for research, planning, design, and construction of the hospitals. Within the context of this framework, some of these principles are intuitively obvious to experienced designers, but others are not so obvious until they have been systematically dissected and delineated from the complex process.
