Public Participation in Environmental Design of Flood Control Channels
Publication: Engineering Issues: Journal of Professional Activities
Volume 98, Issue 3
Abstract
Environmental quality is now a mandatory objective for federal flood control channel planning. Environmental quality can be measured in terms of the use of wildlife, fish, and marine life by humans in the project area. Incremental differences in this use for various alternatives can be presented to the public in tablular form for its use in establishing values leading to design decisions.
