Evaluating Pile Performance During Earthquakes

Abstract
This note presents a summary of a simplified procedure (using hand calculations) for preliminary estimates of pile maximum curvatures (bending stresses) during earthquake motion. More rigorous procedures may be advisable depending on the importance of the situation and the results of preliminary analyses.
