Detection Methods for Location of Subsurface Water and Seepage

Publication: Journal of the Geotechnical Engineering Division
Volume 105, Issue 11

Abstract

The long established technique of using borings to explore for subsurface water is excellent for conditions prevailing at the specific location of the boring. However, in addition to relatively high costs, other problems are encountered when one wants detailed information between borings. These adverse factors are related to depth, accessibility, presence of rock, presence of surface water, and lack of time.
